BYLAW 5.7

The names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of members and applicants of WRIB shall not be used for any purpose outside of WRIB, whether commercial or not-for-profit, without the advance written permission of each member or applicant affected.

We believe that your personal information deserves protection. If you join WRIB, you will need to provide personal information, such as name, address (which are mandatory), and email, phone, and contact information, as well as other information regarding your activities preferences or willingness to volunteer for certain opportunities within the organization.

What do we use your personal information for?

1. To process your orders or requests
2. To personalize the delivery of content to you

How do we protect your personal information?

When you provide us with personal information we store it in a database that is secured. We make every effort to ensure that your personal information is accessible only by the WRIB Board of Directors, and any appropriate members of WRIB's subcommittees, and is only used for the purposes of:

1. Contacting membership for WRIB updates or volunteer opportunities;
2. Updating your personal contact details to ensure all communications reach you;
3. Listing your personal information for the contact person for events, where you have previously authorized us to do so by listing your personal details when submitting an event listing.

Does WRIB disclose personal member information to anyone outside the organization?

No. Never. The information that you provide us with is used exclusively by WRIB for purposes of:

1. Creating a membership profile;
2. Enrolling you in events;
3. Maintaining your membership status in our records;
4. Contacting membership regarding WRIB updates or volunteer opportunities.

WRIB reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. We also reserve the right at any time to disclose any information:

1. To satisfy any law, regulation or government request;
2. If such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to site operation;
3. To protect the rights or property of WRIB, Board of Directors and volunteers.

WRIB Online Privacy Policy

WRIB wants to make your on-line experience at www.wrib.ca satisfying and safe. Our aim is to safeguard the privacy and security of your personal information while providing a personalized service that meets your
individual preference and needs. At all times we will comply with the prevailing laws and regulations governing the confidentiality and security of information.

What information do we obtain about you and what do we use it for?

WRIB collects information on-line primarily to make it easier for you to use our services. Depending on the services which you are accessing you may be requested to provide personal information such as your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number(s). We will use this information to maintain your account, process any requests and to provide you with the best possible service. We will not use your information for any purpose for which you would not reasonably expect us to use it. WRIB has always maintained a policy to not sell or disclose your personal information to anyone outside WRIB for unsolicited marketing purposes.

Security precautions

We employ appropriate technical security measures to protect your personal information and to ensure that it is not accessed by unauthorised persons. Information is held on secure servers and is encrypted wherever this is possible. This is the same encryption used to transmit credit card details over the Internet when buying merchandise online. Any online purchases made on WRIB website are transacted through our online payment provider, PayPal.

Accessing and updating your information

Through online access to your personal information, you have the ability to update your address, email address and telephone contact details at any time. You also have the ability to renew your membership online and pay using PayPal. You may request a copy of the information which we hold about you any time, by contacting us via email at membership@wrib.ca. We also try to ensure that all information, which we hold for you, is accurate. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete these or correct them as soon as practicable. Communication with you may be impeded if the information we hold is inadequate or inaccurate.
